Short answers. About 20 to 30 seconds each. Answer, give a reason, add one detail.

Part 2 · Cue card
A job that you would like to try
You get 1 minute to prepare and then speak for 1 to 2 minutes. Follow the four points on the card in order.
Candidate task card
Describe a job that you would like to try.
You should say:
- what job it is
- what skills are needed to do this job
- whether it is a good job or not
- and explain why you would like to try this job
Start
I'd like to talk about being a tour guide. It's a job I've always wanted to try, even just for one summer.
What the job is
A tour guide takes groups of tourists around a city or a country. They show them famous places, explain the history and help them with practical things, like hotels and transport.
Skills needed
You need to speak at least one foreign language very well, and you need a good knowledge of history and culture. You also need to be patient, friendly and well-organised, because tourists sometimes get lost or have problems.
Is it a good job
In many ways, yes. It's fun, and you meet people from all over the world. But it's also tiring. You're on your feet all day, and the work is seasonal, so you might not have work in winter.
Why you would like it
I'd like to try it because I love my country's history, and I enjoy telling stories. When foreign friends visit me, I always show them around, and I enjoy it so much. It would also be great practice for my English.

Part 3 · Discussion
Finding a job
Longer answers. About 30 to 45 seconds. Give your opinion, explain why, and give an example.
What is the most common way to get a job in your country?
The most common way is through people you know, like family and friends. Many companies prefer to hire someone who has been recommended. Online job websites are also becoming very popular, especially for jobs in big cities.
- through people you knowwith help from your contacts
- has been recommendedsomeone said they are good
- online job websiteswebsites that list jobs
What do most young people do to find a job in your country?
They usually make a CV and send it to many companies online. Many also use LinkedIn. Some young people do internships first, to get experience. And of course, they ask their family and friends if they know about any job openings.
- make a CVa CV = a document about your education and work
- do internshipswork for a short time to learn
- job openingsjobs that are available
Would you say it is easy to find a job in your country? Why?
No, it's not easy, especially for young people. There are many university graduates, but not enough jobs. Some people take jobs that have nothing to do with their degree. It's easier in fields like IT and medicine, where there's more demand.
- No, it's not easy, especially for…a clear answer
- university graduatespeople who finished university
- have nothing to do with their degreeare not related to what they studied
- where there's more demandwhere more workers are needed
How do schools help students choose the right job?
Some schools have a careers adviser, who talks to students about their interests and skills. But in many schools, there isn't much help. I think schools should invite people from different jobs to talk to students, and organise short visits to workplaces.
- a careers advisera person who helps students choose jobs
- there isn't much helpthey don't get much support
- visits to workplacestrips to offices and factories
How can schools identify students' talents?
Teachers should watch students in different activities, not only in exams. Some students are great at art, sports or music, but not at maths. Schools should offer many different clubs and projects, so every student has a chance to find what they're good at.
- identifyfind and recognise
- talentsnatural abilities
- not only in examsalso in other situations
- find what they're good atdiscover their abilities
When is the right time for students to stop studying and get a job? Why?
I think it depends on the person and the job. For most people, after a bachelor's degree is a good time, because they have basic knowledge and can learn the rest at work. But for some jobs, like doctors or researchers, people need to study for many more years.
- it depends on the person and the jobthe answer is different for each case
- basic knowledgethe main, simple knowledge
